You want a volleyball scholarship and you give up club ball to play basketball? Duh
Believe in what you teach and the student/athletes will believe in what you teach.

For the sake of instruction assume a right handed player . Everyone knows the basic footwork on the spike approach is left....right/left (or, as I say it  "left...together"). At the point that the two feet land to initiate the jump the arms should have been extended behind the player and be driving downward in a sweeping arc to help increase the jump. Unfortunately, too many players do not have their arms fully "loaded." They either, never get their arms behind their back at all, or their arms are not thrusting downward at the point that the feet hit.
